My name is Nicole Goolsby and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. After I achieved my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from University of LaVerne I began working with teens and families in community mental health settings. My passion for working with teens, adults, and families led me to obtain my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. Shortly after I began working in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient eating disorder programs. In 2017 I opened my private practice located in Claremont, California.
Throughout this time I have and continue to receive training in a variety of therapeutic modalities such as relational gestalt therapy, family based eating disorder treatment, health at every size, dialectical behavioral therapy, exposure and response prevention, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), and brainspotting.
My education, experience, and training has allowed me to develop an eclectic style of therapy that is tailored to each of my clients needs. I specialize in working with teens, adults, and families who seek treatment for eating disorders, anxiety disorders, body image issues, low self-esteem, perfectionism, relationship/family issues, depression, trauma, and shame.
My goal as a therapist is to work with my clients to achieve a deeper understanding of their lives, reconnect with their inner strengths and values, and live a happier more fulfilling life. I combine a relational style of therapy with evidenced based modalities when appropriate. My work also incorporates mindfulness based interventions grounded in a warm and genuine approach.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family (including my 2 labrador retrievers and cat), playing tennis, hiking, and reading. I love to laugh and have very eclectic taste in music.
It would be an honor to be a part of your journey!
